Welcome to Your Portnahaven Holiday
Located at the southwestern tip of Islay, Portnahaven is renowned for its pretty fishing cottages built around a bay, with a sandy beach at its centre and the Rhinns Lighthouse guarding the sea. There are seals in the bay most of the time.

About Portnahaven

The area is wonderful for walking and cycling as well as everything from birdwatching to building sandcastles!

  • An Tigh Seinnse is the local pub, and serves very good food. There is an excellent gift shop across the road, which also provides take out teas, coffees and soup. The village has a Post Office. The bus shelter is only a few steps from the house with service on weekdays and Saturdays connecting to the rest of the island.
  • In the next village of Port Wemyss, a 2 minute walk from Portnahaven, you can enjoy teas/coffees with excellent home baking at Burnside Lodge. There is also a great little Gift / Craft Shop within walking distance of Portnahaven at Ballymeanach.
